Would you like an original painting by Robyn made uniquely for you and your environment (home, office, restaurant, builder's model home, etc.)? Or maybe you'd like to purchase a one-of-a-kind piece of art as a gift for a loved one or friend.
I would love to paint an original work of art just for you! Below is a summary of how commissioning artwork takes place:
Step 1: LET'S GET CREATIVE
Do you have an idea of what you want your painting to look like? How about your colors, size(s), etc.? Do you see a style or theme in any of my other works that you are particularly attracted to? Do you have pictures of other works that you enjoy? All of these will help to guide us to come up with your unique piece of abstract art! I will work closely with you (using my Commission Work-Up Sheet), asking lots of questions, to help create a perfect work for you! Or, like Google, you can give me a rough idea and then say, "I'm Feeling Lucky," and let my creativity run wild. It's completely up to you! Either way, please contact me via email that you are interested in commissioning a work, and I will respond to you within one (1) business day. In order to get back with you this quickly, please make sure the subject of your email reads: "I'd like to Commission a Work".
Step 2: YOUR PERSONALIZED QUOTE
Once we've had our discussions and completed my Work-Up sheet, we will know what direction in which we're going. Yay! Big hurdle overcome! At this point, we will have worked together to come up with a close representation of what your abstract artwork will be. I will then furnish you with my Cost Proposal for your approval.
Step 3: DEPOSIT TIME
Once you have received and approved the Commission Work-Up Sheet and Cost Proposal, I will prepare a Contract for Commission Artwork that we will both sign. At that point, you will provide a 50% non-refundable deposit.
Step 4: I BEGIN PAINTING YOUR MASTERPIECE
Now the fun begins! I typically require about 4-6 weeks to complete a commissioned painting, but I will do my best to get it done sooner. If you have a specific time-request, please let me know during our beginning stages. If, for any reason, I am heavily booked, it may take longer to complete your artwork. I will, of course, have discussed this with you earlier as well. I will send you, from time-to-time, photos of your work in progress. This keeps us both excited about the process, and gives you a sort of "diary" of your original work to keep. HOWEVER, you need to understand that paintings usually go through several incarnations. Please do not "freak out" if the first few look nothing like we discussed. Trust me, and the process I use, to get the piece to where you want it. If you've never commissioned a piece of artwork before, this will be the most exciting and scary part of the process. I'm working for you, and I know what you want. (If you'd like to "Opt Out" of this step, no problem, I completely understand.)
Step 5: YOUR APPROVAL
Once I get fairly close to finishing your original abstract artwork, I will send you photos for final approval. I want you to love it! At this point, you may request two (2) minor revisions based on the original commissioned details, if necessary. Once approved, your final payment is due.
Step 6: FINALIZATION AND SHIPMENT
After I've received your Approval and final payment, I will finalize your work. Depending on the media used, this may mean applying 2-3 coats of varnish to protect against UV damage, a final coat of resin, or a fixative to pastel works. I will install wire to the back of the piece so that it is ready to hang as soon as you receive it! The painting will be signed by me on the front and back, and you may request a Certificate of Authenticity of the original work.
It is at this point that I will be able to give you a cost for shipping. We will work together to ship your original abstract artwork in the most economically-safe means possible. I will send you a separate invoice (usually via PayPal) for the shipping costs agreed upon. Once received, I will ship your painting to you! You will receive an email from me with a Tracking Number from the carrier chosen for your convenience in tracking your work. All paintings are insured for shipping. Additionally, an adult signature will be required upon delivery.
If you live in Florida, state tax will be added. You are also welcome to personally pick up your artwork from my studio.
All sales are final and there are no returns or refunds on commissioned works of art.
